Tawera Bilingual School is located in the Rūātoki Valley on the western side of the Ohinemataroa River. The school caters for students from Years 1 to 8.
Māori students are drawn from the communities of Rūātoki, Taneatua, Whakatane and two local kōhanga reo.
The school’s vision is for students to become knowledgeable and confident in Taweratanga and Tūhoetanga.
